There are a number of reasons that parents and students would want to consider home schooling as a viable alternative to attending regular school. There have been a number of instances in recent years where schools have come under attack by the very students that attend the school. While these instances are rare, home schooling does virtually eliminate the threat. Some people may wonder why children would want to choose home schooling over more traditional options, and the truth is that in many cases the students are able to finish their education faster than they would if they were not able to utilize home schooling methods. This is because the student is able to move at their own individualized pace when it comes to home schooling, and obviously this is not the method in traditional schooling that takes place outside the home. Schools that are not based in home schooling methods have to move at a particular pace that works for the class as a whole, not the individual. Home schooling is more popular for students that are more advanced and have parents that are interested in helping them learn.

One of the mutual benefits of home schooling is that it does allow individuals to bond. Parents and students that might not otherwise spend time together are able to do so. In many ways, this helps to foster the bonds that exist between the student and the parent, which otherwise may have been ignored or neglected. Home schooling is not for everyone, but for those with the time and desire it is actually a very beneficial decision for both the parent and the child or student.
